This film fest is indicative of southern hospitality. Classy but casual. The films were top notch, everything they screen ranges from interesting to amazing. This is currently the only adjudicated film fest in Augusta, GA and the CSRA. This fest was all about the films, the filmmakers, and the parties; they didn't stray into auxiliary events like concerts, comedians, etc. The parties were pretty hopping. The catering was southern elegance on a plate, they call it hillbilly chic; the food alone was worth the price of admission. They have a filmmaker's reception Friday night (open bar for fil makers) and a Brunch on Sunday with Bloody Marys and Mimosas; again, I can't communicate just how wonderful the food was. Filmmakers were treated like rock stars, they have their own area for light snacks and drinks. They acknowledged the filmmakers before their films and had a lil Q&A sometimes. Award ceremony was little too casual, wouldn't mind if it were more of a "to-do," but the trophies were nice, they are giving out cash starting in 2017 which is awesome; and the swag was pretty cool. A unique thing about this fest is their Wages of Cine award, a local production company has their own category they award films of a certain style.
